Complete miracle that filibuster is still intact. Like holy shit, we might have a fighting chance in 2022

Thing is, the main reason they're trying to pass HR 1 is because they're terrified of midterms (2022 & 2024) because they used all their might on Trump coup (yet Republicans hardly lost any seats), and 2022 will make them lose even more seats.

They want to be able to steal future elections without having to work for it like they did in 2020.

The reason they didn't do well in the House in 2020 is that the fraud was focused on 4 cities in swing states, while Biden and Democrats underperformed everywhere else. They did pull off the steal of 2 Senate seats in Georgia, which is why we're even having this debate.

I don't see why they even care. If you can do unlimited fraud with no consequences, why do you need HR1? They need a way to control the states that haven't been fully compromised yet.

I agree. Manchin is corrupt, but I don't think Democrats were expecting one of their own to feel strongly about retaining the filibuster when it explicitly helps Republicans instead of Democrats (he even said in an article that it for Republican minority. source: https://archive.vn/HdlV4)

Quote: "I'm not going to go there until my Republican friends have the ability to have their say also. ... I’m hoping they will get involved to the point where we have 10 of them that will work with 50 of us."

idk dude, it's really weird in my opinion. I'll take any miracle at this point.
