I ordered about 200 dollars worth of food for takeout for me and my family today.
Went to go pick it up and the hostess told me I needed to wear a mask. Texas has lifted the order but individual businesses can still require them. I told her I don't have one and I'm only picking up a to go order. She says I need a mask so I tell her "nah I'm good, just cancel my order for xxxx". I walk out and start driving towards a more based restaurant. Get a phone call from manager who asks if I could come back and they would bring my food out to me. Told her no, I'm not going back I already ordered from another restaurant. She says "you ordered the food, we made it, you need to come pay for it". I just laugh and say no thanks. Enjoy my food and margaritas restaurant staff, hopefully it comes out of your boss's pocket.
Just wanted to share
HELL YEAH!
Make em work then cancel. That’s genius!
Not even his fault. The waitress told him to leave.
Exactly. He showed up with the intent of completing the transaction with payment and they demanded his compliance with a condition that was never agreed upon to do so. They are 100% at fault.
That's because Capitalism is no longer taught except as a bad orangeman-type strawman in their never ending quest for Communism.
They literally have no clue how trade works.
They blame capitalism for all the bad but absolutely refuse to address the fact that the only thing that makes it bad is ultra corrupt government that taxes the shit out of everyone and implements socialist policies.
that's because $ soon to go down the drain so why bother earning it
Take it out of her pay then.
If it was their policy to be hard core Mask Karen's, then it is the manager or owner's problem. Still don't know if "I was just following orders" is a valid excuse though.
That's not a valid excuse. She should refuse to enforce a policy infringing on freedom.
If this happens a few times, perhaps the restaurant will wise up and treat customers better
restaurants are always right... customers are there to shut the fuck up and gib $
Restaurant did not disclose that there is A dress code for take out orders. They did not fairly present terms of a legal transaction.
Perhaps restaurant shouldn't be run by bunch of pussies, maybe people won't have to find out the bullshit face diaper policy even for pickup order?
It’s a dicey issue. Restaurants have been punished financially more then any other industry.
If you owned a restraint you’d be scared to death of a third shutdown.
Crazy governors are using the health department to punish non-compliant restaurants by revoking liquor licenses and other required licenses.
OP made a good balance of attempting to work with them. If he’s already inside talking she might as well have given him the food. It’s another thing if he was asking for a table etc.
Overly risk averse entrepreneurs fail far more often than they succeed.
To put it another way: fuck what the dictatorship says.
Normally I’d agree but every restaurant in Michigan that ignored the order had their license revoked. I’m not gambling against 100% odds...
I wish everyone could see this comment.
When the city said wear a mask or youll be honeless and your employees will have no income, I chose and a mask and made all my emoloyee wear a mask.
Sometimes you have to choose your battles.
Governors don't make laws. No one was forced to close their business.
They were in Michigan via the health department.
Mask mandate in TX is over as of today.
Not really. Abbott just said no more state govt getting involved. He meant you all are on your own so I can focus on re-election
Laughs in Performing Arts
I’m conceding faster then a French man in a thumb-fight.
We had a group of restaurants try and sue but you have no idea how fast legal fees add up, you can’t beat the states unlimited wealth they drain from us.
