I ordered about 200 dollars worth of food for takeout for me and my family today.
Went to go pick it up and the hostess told me I needed to wear a mask. Texas has lifted the order but individual businesses can still require them. I told her I don't have one and I'm only picking up a to go order. She says I need a mask so I tell her "nah I'm good, just cancel my order for xxxx". I walk out and start driving towards a more based restaurant. Get a phone call from manager who asks if I could come back and they would bring my food out to me. Told her no, I'm not going back I already ordered from another restaurant. She says "you ordered the food, we made it, you need to come pay for it". I just laugh and say no thanks. Enjoy my food and margaritas restaurant staff, hopefully it comes out of your boss's pocket.
Just wanted to share
I've ordered carryout here in Michigan several times since the communist lockdowns began, and never wore a mask when picking up my food. Even here I've never had anyone say anything, much less refuse to sell me the food. It sounds like TX is more cucked than even the liberal shithole that is MI.
That's pretty bizarre.
Iowan here. Only the damn hockey games and gaming/nerd/hobby places seem to be mask fascists that I've seen. Otherwise, I have had no problems at all and am usually not the only one without a mask. I've been surprised how chill Iowa has been throughout all this. However, I work in software, and might as well move to an island with internet, because tech people are SUPER on the COVID bandwagon and we'll never work in-person or have meetups ever again. I'd move back to Texas, but seeing as they've lost their mind and the floodgates from Mexico have opened up, I may as well just chill in the Hawkeye State.
That's about right. I'm in the Des Moines metro. When we visited Decorah late last summer, it was COVID city there. You'd think Iowa's "big city" would be the most cucked by this, but it isn't. Iowa has been blue in the east, and red in the west, with the blue turning toward red gradually as you head westward though... I hope Miller-Meeks holds onto the SE Iowa House district.
It is really disappointing to see everyone going along with this nonsense. However I've been in 5 restaurants without a mask, twice with a large party of about 8-10 people, none of whom wore masks, and no one said anything at all. We've unfortunately got our share of dummies, but at least in my neck of the woods, we also have a lot of people who are going along with it, but not to the degree of stupidity of some places.
Of course, the fact that people are going along with it, is sad enough. We're all doomed, Texas included.
Texas his 4 of the 11 largest cities in the US, plus suburbs. Sadly, it's not as based as it used to be. Also, doesn't help that King Abbott had some of the tightest measures of any red state.
