I ordered about 200 dollars worth of food for takeout for me and my family today.

Went to go pick it up and the hostess told me I needed to wear a mask. Texas has lifted the order but individual businesses can still require them. I told her I don't have one and I'm only picking up a to go order. She says I need a mask so I tell her "nah I'm good, just cancel my order for xxxx". I walk out and start driving towards a more based restaurant. Get a phone call from manager who asks if I could come back and they would bring my food out to me. Told her no, I'm not going back I already ordered from another restaurant. She says "you ordered the food, we made it, you need to come pay for it". I just laugh and say no thanks. Enjoy my food and margaritas restaurant staff, hopefully it comes out of your boss's pocket.

Just wanted to share

Where I work I have pretty based management so we never enforced mask rules for customers (during early days of covid some of the more liberal ones maybe asked, but corporate said not to enforce because of an incident that occurred). I actually got yelled at by a guy because we didn’t enforce it lol to figure. I’m happier when I see people coming in without them. Even with all the covid bs one thing that talks is money. If I’m management with a brain cell I’m annoyed that the employee chose virtue signaling over just making the transaction. If the masks work like they say, then hostess would have been protected right? Lol instead they’re out $100 and whatever more you would have spent in the future at their restaurant

Lowe's has a policy of offering a mask to customers, but if they refuse that's as far as it goes, they don't enforce. Home Depot enforces masks. Guess who gets my business for a $300k remodel?

It must depend on locale, because our Home Depot doesn’t enforce masks at all. They have an assload of signs posted that you need to wear a mask, but I’ve never once worn one while shopping there and have never had a problem.

It’s actually one of the few places I regularly go because of that.

For what it's worth, same here. Neither will harass a customer, yet both bent the knee quickly with PA announcements about how to "stay safe". Wish it would have been one or the other, so I could actually vote with my dollars.

I'm in Michigan and can get in HD with no mask. Not even asked about a mask my last trip in.
