I ordered about 200 dollars worth of food for takeout for me and my family today.
Went to go pick it up and the hostess told me I needed to wear a mask. Texas has lifted the order but individual businesses can still require them. I told her I don't have one and I'm only picking up a to go order. She says I need a mask so I tell her "nah I'm good, just cancel my order for xxxx". I walk out and start driving towards a more based restaurant. Get a phone call from manager who asks if I could come back and they would bring my food out to me. Told her no, I'm not going back I already ordered from another restaurant. She says "you ordered the food, we made it, you need to come pay for it". I just laugh and say no thanks. Enjoy my food and margaritas restaurant staff, hopefully it comes out of your boss's pocket.

It strikes me as odd that you seem surprised that this worked.
I've been doing this since day one. Like many people here I may have fantasized about what I'd do if some dumb fuck minimum wage employee tried quizzing me about wearing a mask but the worst I've had is them asking if I have a mask and offering me one, to which I decline and say I don't need one.
Everyone should be doing this.
Say you're medically exempt if it makes you feel more comfortable but I just say very simply, I don't need one.
They usually actually apologise and leave it at that.
Are you a woman? Because women have been getting harassed and physically attacked for going without a mask.
I have several strategies.
One is carry an inhaler, and scream at people who tell me to out a mask on that I am sick of being harassed, my doctor won't even allow me to wear a mask, flash the inhaler, and lecture them about bullying people with medical disabilities.
Often, to win an argument with a demoKKKrat, you have to pretend to be a bigger Victim than they are. This is because they worship Victimhood. Make them feel like the oppressor. demoKKKrats trained them to be victims. So when you turn that in them, and make them the oppressor, watch them grovel to you with apologies.
