Honestly, I'm pleased Sweden took this approach; but I think the reason it had to was because lockdowns simply would not have worked with all of their "New Swedes" and they made a calculated decision to simply roll with it as implementing draconian restrictions that a certain segment of the population simply flouted would have lifted the veil on some other aspects of Swedish life that they wanted to keep covered.
But their loss in this regard is every other lockdown critic in the world's gain; thanks, Sweden!

The Swedish constitution doesn't allow lockdowns of people unless during a time of war.
It wasn't that they didn't want to lock people down, their constitution prevented them from doing it.
Modern Swede's are still as retarded as ever, but the based previous Swede's seemed to know not to give government too much power.
