You're going to get that.

The state and defense both get 15 'strikes' they can use against people to make sure they can't be on the Jury.

They don't need a reason (though the Judge will typically ask them), they can just use the strike to keep that person off.

If you watched yesterday, the state tried to challenge the defense because they used two strikes on CLEAR Mexican immigrants.

Look, if they can barely speak english, they shouldn't be on a Jury. Period.

I wasn't happy with that one stupid bitch they brought on the Jury yesterday. She was 'excited' to be on the Jury. Look dude. No one should be excited to be on a Jury. Jury duty fucking sucks. That's a FUCK TON of responsibility and I wouldn't be 'excited' to be presiding over another man's life and if he's going to walk free or not. Jury duty is a burden. It should be treated like a burden. I don't want anyone who would be happy to sit on a Jury. I don't want anyone who is 'excited' to sit on a Jury. I want the guy that doesn't want to be there, but isn't being a little bitch trying to shirk responsibility from it.

No one wants to decide the fate of others and if you're stoked to be able to, you have no business being there. This is serious shit. This is a man's life. It's not an afternoon of Instagram selfies showing off your fat ass in skirt. This is literal life and death and that bitch was not taking it seriously. Jury duty isn't exciting, it's not fun, it's a civic responsibility. You don't want it, but when it comes knocking, you answer it.

It's fucking stupid how they're asking so much about BLM and no one seems to give the only answer that actually makes sense: BLM is irrelevant to this conversation as they had nothing to do with what happened to George Floyd. The trial isn't about BLM. It's about how George Floyd died and if Chauvin was the direct cause of it. That's it. BLM is irrelevant. They don't factor in. Fuck them. What happened after Floyd died has nothing to do with how he died. BLM wasn't on scene and Floyd wasn't part of BLM. So who fucking cares. They shouldn't even be brought into it at all and it's wild that the Judge is allowing it. Chauvin isn't on trial because Floyd died and because he died, riots happened. Chauvin is on trial because he's being accused of murdering Floyd in the 2nd degree. What happened after that is irrelevant.

There's only two reasons someone would be "excited to be on the jury".

They've already decided he is guilty, and are going to hold out to vote to convict no matter what.

They've already decided he is innocent, and are going to hold out to vote not guilty no matter what.

or they're planning to cash in with fame after the trial is over, presumably with a guilty vote

The part that sucks for Chauvin is that, if it's a mistrial due to hung jury, the prosecution just gets to try again. If the prosecutor really wants to put the screws to a defendant, they can keep having retrial after retrial.

So Chauvin needs one person willing to hold out to avoid going to jail. But he needs a unanimous vote to win. If it's 11-1 or 10-2 (or 1-11 or 2-10), the prosecution can just try again with a new jury.
