I was always against the policy Obama put in place for allowing people to transition when they wish. The military has a purpose, and that purpose has nothing to do with earning woke points.

But I was against this not only because of how unstable hormones could make you in a combat zone but because at almost any time, a soldier can say that they want to transition, and that time could easily be a week before they were supposed to deploy to a combat zone.
While the order during Obama's time allegedly gave commanders the authority to delay surgery for mission requirements, I already knew that outside pressure would prevent any commander that wants to see major from denying a soldier the opportunity to transition.
Around 12 years ago, the two-star in command of 3ID in Iraq was overruled when he ordered subordinates to punish female soldiers who got pregnant while deployed because of complaints outside of the Army to include Oprah Winfrey. Since then, we have gotten a lot woker.
