Because it hurts their current mantra that Republicans need to shut their mouths and accept the results of the elections. The media doesn’t want to bring too much attention to the fact that they mocked Trump for pointing out fraud and other election irregularities when Biden was declared the winner, but they are more than happy to contest the results when one of their guys can gain an extra seat.
