The biggest problem is time and money. I have no time to volunteer for these things because of my job and businesses. And these types of jobs dont pay enough vs. what i can make if i spend my time on my own businesses. Thats why they all get taken over by the $15/hr min wage fans that might be susceptible to bribes.
ANY local position is a good one, including schoolboards. Some of these positions would probably be like, at most, a phone call a month. I'm sure you can squeeze the time out for that to literally take part in saving the country!
The more people that take up little positions, the less time everyone need spend!
