Ron Paul was a congressman in a pretty right-libertarian district, where he built a great personal reputation over many decades. But he still had to make tactical compromises, like bringing home some earmarks (after voting against earmarks in general). Rand has a senatorial seat to not lose...
Trump had to do a lot worse to make himself electable, like make certain voter groups forget he's a billionaire snob. As if he really likes McDonald's... 🙄
Well, he does order steaks well done and with ketchup....so he might legit like McDs. I actually like a little ketchup too, but ordering well done is where he crossed the line 😂
But in all seriousness, I was absolutely shocked we had someone in there that actually seemed to be working for us and actually followed through on any campaign promises whatsoever.
I miss that so
C'mon, he's been eating steaks at the best restaurants in the world for most of his life - we're talking about superior-breed beer-fed hand-massaged cows and signature sauces made by celebrity chefs, costing more than my first two cars combined.
McDonald's burgers taste like a mixture of pink slime, industrial glue, and chemical elements that don't yet appear on the periodic table. (And I'm no snob, meat from Aldi or Walmart was perfectly fine for me.)
My standing assumption is that he's pandering to appeal to the working class, and that's fine. You can't change anything in politics if you don't first get elected...
Oh I doubt he actually likes McDs too, but the well done steak seriously made me wonder at least a little. I mean I don't like McDs and I'm not rich now and grew up poor af. I don't care what he eats personally, but I get what you're saying. I don't have a strong opinion either way, except on the well done steak thing.
The only one better than Rand Paul is his father.
