I still don't get what the benefit from a population kill off is. The reason things have value is because people want them. If there's less people to want them then there's less value. These people may end up with greater control and more actual physical things, but the things will have less value because the demand is gone.
And with a rapid kill off the time it would take to replace those people would be longer than the lives of these idiots.
