I keep seeing this quote being used as some kind of Deep Thoughts when its utter nonsense. Equality of human beings has never meant "societal equality". It has always meant "equality under law/government".
Almost every constitution in the western world has enshrined Equality Under Law. "societal equality" is a nonsense phrase meant to obscure or denigrate the importance of Equality Under Law. It's used by Marxists to undermine your understanding of "Equality".
Anyone who thinks all people are "born equal" and that means we all have the same abilities and same opportunities is not observing reality.
The quote referenced here: 1. is not clear that he is referring to anything other than social equality; and 2. can easily be interpreted to imply that being equal IN ANY WAY is even a real thing or a desirable thing.
So good job defending a very subjective post online and doing it passive-aggressively.

And Solzhenitsyn was writing exactly about Marxism and equality of outcome. So good job figuring out your own misunderstanding of the context.
