The point, and this alludes to a much larger civics problem, is that whether a policy works or not is completely irrelevant if the government has no authority to enact it. The Nazis "followed the science" "for the greater good" too, but the ends don't justify the means. What's next, are they going to force us all to quit smoking? Ban alcohol again? Implant us with microchips to make sure we're eating our vegetables? Once you give the government control over your healthcare, where does it end?
