When people were gushing over him for "ending the mandates and restrictions" I always pointed out that he was only doing it because the legislature was poised to take away his power to have done it at all. He cared more about that than Texans.
I was finally thinking: "Wow, end of mask mandate, business shut downs, national guard to the border, standing up to Big Tech, finishing the wall... did Abbot's balls drop?"
Then this. Big disappointment.
And some of my favorite local businesses still are doing masks. I visited one of them on the day it was free. Guy said he was afraid of losing his mask-worshipping customers, but less afraid of losing his mask-skeptic customers.
Career politicians all want the same thing. They want an expansion of the warfare-welfare state. If people were to remember that they don’t need government to manage their lives, then how could government justify taxing us?
As a Texan, I am so consistently disappointed with Abbott.
