Questioning authority and our corrupt leaders is a virtue in my mind, but the actions and speech one engages in on that basis is not necessarily virtuous, if those actions and speech entails engaging in hate, racism, eg. “fucking Jews,” or physically assaulting people to make a political point. People that do that are emotionally-charged irrational buffoons.
Not equating the two, but both are counter-productive. I support someone’s right to say whatever they want, but that doesn’t make it productive or even moral. But I don’t agree with making hate speech illegal. People have the right to be whatever type of buffoon they want to be. Physical assault should always be illegal.
Where it gets interesting is self-defense, because I believe Jan 6th, for example, was by and large self-defense (protecting our rights and republic). But that is steering the conversation towards the issue of natural law vs. moral relativism.

Totally agree.
