Everyone saying "I got my rifle in time" and "it makes private sales illegal" are fear mongers. Especially when people have only quoted the background check part. As far as background checks go;

  1. This does not apply to anyone who buys their guns via an FFL. I don't know about your state, but if I buy a gun, the serial number is tied to my name, so law enforcement already know what I have

  2. It doesn't make private sales illegal, it just makes it where you have to go to a FFL, gun manufacturer, or importer for them to do the background check on the buyer. Should add police in there too, that's where I've gotten my background checks I needed for jobs.

I'm sure there are magazine restrictions and "assault weapon" shit in there too, but the above applies only to the background checks, which everyone on here seems to be talking about.

It doesn't make private sales illegal, and it doesn't have any affect on guns bought from an FFL. At least this bill doesn't, future bills will.

It's not really a private sale if I have to take it to a third party who then sends my buyers information to be checked against a database, in order to sell my item to someone else.

So yes, it does outlaw private sales.

Sales can also be held up in definitely by the FBI background check.
