Essentially all sales have to pass a federal background check which generally takes a fair amount of time. However this has only passed the house and must pass the senate before being put into Law.

Don’t get me wrong, I hope I’m wrong. But putting faith in GOP senators to do the right thing and support the constitution doesn’t have the best track history
