I have to somewhat disagree. Except for the 'be close to family' part, if applicable. Being isolated in our house all the time is NOT healthy for us humans, young and old. And talking through a webcam or phone doesn't cut it. I think homeschooling is great, but if I was to do it, I would place extra emphasis on my kids social interactions. When you don't have the data but you know you have to defeat Trump, and the head of the Coronavirus Taskforce is also on-board with fucking him over, you've got to make a judgement call.
This is where libertarianism becomes viable - not as a political movement/party, but as a direction in which to err. A liberty-minded individual might take that lack of evidence and concluded it would be best to do less, and let the people decide their own best approaches.
Republican: Elected officials should make judgement calls, because they're accountable to the people.
Democrat: Unelected bureaucrats should make the call, because they can't be held accountable by anyone.
The different governing philosophies are right there on the surface, people just need to be willing to see them. We get the government we deserve.
