This is what I call the "science industrial complex." Wherein politics drives scientific results, which drives funding, which drives more scientific results favorable to politics, which in turn drives more funding.

Need proof? Global warming. Population explosion. Peak oil. Covid. Monetary theory and banking. Pharmacology.

It's a feedback loop.
