The $1400 will make absolutely no difference because kids have been eating through the SNAP program and school lunch program. If they have been starving, it’s because guardians have been buying lobster and shit with SNAP. No amount of stimulus will change that.
The 1400 is about throwing us a bone. The claimed purpose was to pour money into an economy to give it a temporary kickstart. However, with any jumpstart, you cannot run anything by kicking it. You’ve got to fuel it with something sustainable. A stimulus is not that.
If it was about the people, it would have been sent out regularly like a UBI or negative income tax. (Look up Milton Friedman.)
