Doorbell rings, I go answer it.
Little boy, maybe 9 or 10 years old standing on the porch, he had on a freshly pressed ice white oxford shirt with the logo of some private gradeschool on it. He was holding a box of those $1 chocolate bars for sale. His mother was behind him about 3 feet, letting him do all the effort selling the candy. I bought 5. They didn't have masks, and neither did I.
As we concluded, his mother pointed at our metal laser cutout we have hanging in the window right by the door in the shape of a Colt 1911. It is engraved, "We don't call 911." She said it kind of frigntened him at first, and he asked his mom before they rang the doorbell if that meant the people inside were going to shoot him. She told him of course not, but he looked a little scared even still until I said:
No, that means that if you are ever in trouble you can come over here and we will protect you!
He smiled really big, and his mother smiled really big and thanked me for saying that. I reiterated it again, if you are in trouble, come here and my wife or I or both of us will protect you.
Seemed like they both very excited to hear that and everyone left the transaction with smiling faces.
1911s are really nice. What I like about them is they're simple, I can understand a diagram of them and how they work. Not directly related to your story, which is heartwarming, and I'm surprised they have $1.00 bars anymore, but I wanted to compliment your taste in firearms. Also cool that you made it clear your wife's capable too. Sounds like a wholesome place.
She’s such a good shot that She has orders to just shoot if someone has me at knifepoint or otherwise. Also, she told me to get out of the way of her if a gunfight ever breaks out because we will have a much better chance at getting out alive if she has more opportunities to shoot. Yay for gun toten’ conservative babes!
I'm in the right timeline, wrong geolocation.
You did so well I don't even know you and I want to raise a glass in your honor. That's a good marriage, and your neighborhood's lucky to have you looking out for them together and showing a good example!
They are nice but not as simple as a glock with all those safeties.
