The good news is most of them go back to normal after a few years. Being trans is the Gen Z version of being Emo or goth or whatever else kids did to act out and be "special."
You don't see many goth or emo adults walking around because they left high school and realized being a faggot wasn't the way to go through life.
If we lived in a sane world, they'd show kids videos of gender reassignment surgeries and the aftermath. I have a feeling you'd find a lot fewer kids identifying as trans if they saw what the pus oozing front hole of a trans woman looks like.
I very much agree that peer pressure is ruining many of these lives. The rising rate of people "identifying" certainly isn't genetic.
