My extreme libertarian friend says all taxation is theft including for municipalities. I say extreme because he wants virtually 0 government including all 3 branches of government gone, no military only private police, and privatize literally everything and remove judeo-Christian values from everywhere.

Good point didn’t occur to me of the tea tax or stamp tax for that matter. I’d rather not pay taxes don’t get me wrong but serious question here- for roads example wouldnt it be better if it wasn’t private? People who buy massive amounts of land right now for example could buy roads and charges fees just for driving on them. I’m not for government ran shit like entitlement programs or any of that FYI just been thinking about this topic. But if you keep Government contained to the protector of rights, the worst their power hunger can do is protect our rights even more. Start giving it power over us and it's all down hill from there.
Whether it be roads, police, Justice system, or even municipalities there's that argument to be made that Government provides that neutral position for an citizens but as we see now that can turn into a centralized politically driven monopoly very fast.
That's my main reason for being anti Government. It's easier to boycott and fight a company than a Government with an Army that forces you to fund them. Can't think of much the Government can provide that a free market couldn't do better.

You said virtually no government, not literally no government - so even he says you need some government? What part does he say you still need, and does he say paying for the part he wants is still theft?
I think the answer is that yes it kind of is theft, but it’s necessary because without it you have anarchy - but it is still theft, which is why you have to be constantly vigilant and aggressive about minimising it every way you possibly can. That’s the part people have forgotten today.

America is the only Nation of the Self-governed. Constitutionally speaking, the Government only has the power and authority to protect our rights and our borders. Give ANY centralized power that level of power over your, and you get a monopoly. Give government that power, you get a monopoly only conflict can escape.
