There’s been a lot of that lately, and it’s both sides trying to get us outraged so we do something stupid. We’re in precarious times right now. People were about to riot yesterday because the House passed a bill, I guess not realizing the House passes a shitload of bills every year that never go anywhere, because the Senate blocks it.

People better figure out quick that you can’t win a war with a mob, you need an army, otherwise we wouldn’t spend billions a year training and retraining our soldiers. If mobs worked we’d just hand everybody a gun and point at the objective.

$1,900,000,000,000 leftist wet dream bill rammed through reconciliation basically without a single Republican vote and an inability to filibuster is a litttttttttle different than a normal bill.

Do you not know what reconciliation is?

And also a cultural mob is basically the most powerful tool you can deploy in a culture war, which is why the left has the Cancel Culture Twitter mob.

We just need to cancel better.

I’m not the guy you replied to, but I don’t know what a reconciliation bill is. Can you explain?

Reconciliation is a procedure that expedites the passage of certain budgetary legislation in the Senate. The Senate filibuster effectively requires a 60-vote super-majority for the passage of most legislation in the Senate, but reconciliation provides a process to prevent the use of the filibuster and thereby allow the passage of a bill with simple majority support in the Senate.

Reconciliation bills can be passed on spending, revenue, and the federal debt limit, and the Senate can pass one bill per year affecting each subject.

They succeeded on 1/6. Especially the "Cross the Rubicon" people on this board. Basically ignored Trump's calls for peaceful protest and allowed themselves to be used as political pawns for the enemy. There is a definitely a resurgence of delusional CTR thinking here when I see someone here try to blame Trump for not immediately fixing everything by issuing a magical, strongly worded EO.
