I think you're incorrect with your first notion. It's not "most people outside the norm aren't content just to exist with the same rights" just like it's not true that the people making an especially big stink here about "non-normal" people existing are being fair about it. There is a common type of human that is insecure in their own choices and wants everyone to live exactly how they do, to the point they become a Karen about shit that doesn't matter.
Individual freedom and responsibility is very much not the same as a communist utopia, and it seems pointless to list the all reasons why, but a quick reason is because it's a personal choice of how you live your life (barring breaking basic laws) rather than everyone agreeing to give up property and freedom for "the good of the state".
