I get what you're saying, but I guarantee you that it's going to be tough to get ahead when everyone you know is either on the dole, selling drugs, steeling shit, or some other elicit behavior. I'm all up for personal accountability, but there is none - and that's a self-fulfilling prophecy.
prejudice can save your life. never relax. being vigilant means that some other poor fool can be the victim. A lot of prejudice is based on actual life experience.. If a certain demographic proved themselves not to be criminals consistently.. maybe stereotypes wouldn't exist.
