..... the bonfire. Add the accompanyng adrenaline rush for those who would silence any and all opposition and we are right back to the Roman Empire and the Middle Ages that followed. Soldiers of the state would burst into private quarters, gather up the books, and throw them into a raging bonfire in the village square, a kind of celebration of state power.
