The pursuit of freedom minded civilization has been to literally flee to the west. The Greeks, to the west of Persia, resisted falling beneath their dominion. The Romans further west still improved their concept of democracy into the concept of a Republic and rule of law. As Rome's republic cratered into disaster, the freedom minded fled further west. The colonists fled an increasingly corrupt Europe. Americans have continually fled the domineering behavior of the blue northeast states. Freedom has always been a literal run to the west. But there's no place further west to go. We've come to the edge of where west goes. Any further "west" of us now is the far east edge of Chinese communist order. Reagan was right. Pompeo is right. Going west has always been the move of the enlightened. Freedom minded people have always despised being wrapped up in the conflicts of those tyrants to the east of them. But a nonconfrontational attitude has led us to a cliff. America is the goal line. You either fight here to keep America great or you lose the game of freedom and tyranny.
