I work at a major US corp, it's in the top 30 of the S&P 500. A recent company announcement included how they plan to go hard at increasing diversity and that they were proud to announce the last 20 director positions were filled by women (and a few by minorities).
Doesn't mean much since below the CEO, there's a crap ton of Indians in upper management, we have multiple indian offices (Hyderabad, Chennai, etc), and I'd guestimate about 75-85% Indians in my office (of around 2500 people).
tldr; Hiring indians = diverse, even though most of the company already appears to be indian. PS: company says fuck you if you're male.
