dude i know what i said is hard and ive never served but if somebody said you gotta spend one year pealing potatoes or guarding a fucking tree to get a vote i know i would do it and i think you would to. something free is not treated with value a vote is worth more

I hear ya, and if joining meant I would only be called upon if absolutely needed to defend the nation, then I probably would have.
like one year of national service do some civic duty helping the nation.
I'd be happy for a start if we just stop mailing ballots all over the place! :)
ROTC was a great experience, might fit the bill for something like that.
