IF YOU WOULD HAVE TOLD ME 2 YRS. AGO that a 65 yr. old woman would be arrested for NOT wearing a mask in a BANK after POLICE ordered her to; I would have either called you a liar or asked if you were drunk/high... (GALVESTON, TX - Arrest warrant has been issued for woman who refused to wear mask)

How is this possible, mask mandate or cancelled a few days ago
Businesses are still allowed to require masks. The Government just isn't telling you that you MUST wear one. Basically if you're not in a business, you can't be cited. But private businesses can require anything they want.
Like refusing to bake a wedding cake for a gay couple? Get real....
Yes and no. They can accuse you of trespass but not make you wear a mask.
The story is confusing because it talks about a warrant... Which implies she left the bank before the cops got there... Which it looks like she did not. Had she it would be hard to get her for trespassing.
They can remove and cite you for trespassing, though.
It sounds like they detained her, but broke her foot, so she had to go to the hospital. What I don't understand is why did they release her from the hospital, then say she was free, but there's a warrant? It's as if they decided to file a warrant long after the incident. The whole story stinks of corruption. And was the man a police officer or a security guard?
