This is exactly the type of story that makes me annoyed anew with the right wing's tendency to blame the current anti-family social paradigm solely on women or feminism. It takes two, both male and female in a 50/50 world to screw up society and create this instability. A lot of Western men won't let their wives have more children or any children because of either financial or personal freedom issues. Add that to all the men that simply refuse to even get married at all because they've been sold a bill of goods about some fantasy bachelor life of skirt chasing and no responsibility. Starting in the 1970s, the media went on a very aggressive campaign to not only convince women to focus only on their own ambitions, but to convince men that being a husband and father and being committed to a family was a type of slavery, a state of imprisonment that should be avoided at all costs. Three vacations a year and a new car every two years and going out to eat four times a week is supposed to be the preferred tradeoff to raising amazing kids and being in love with your wife and kids for a lifetime and beyond.
