Educators have always been communists. Most people get into it for the "summers off" and vacation weeks around Xmas and spring. They also don't have to do any real work because curriculums are already written and the teacher just pushes a button these days.

The board is made up of people who were teachers or other school administrators or minor local politicians. None of them care about any of the stuff the parents said. They think of school as indoctrination centers where they can spread their filthy ideas. That the parents don't like that doesn't matter to them at all.
