Assad was educated in England as an eye doctor, had all the formal upbringing and social training worthy of any upper class Westerner and only got into politics because his brother was killed and he felt he needed to step in to help his family. He runs a SECULAR Western style government tolerant of all sects of Islam, Christianity and Judaism too, and tolerant and accepting of women's rights also.
He is supposed to be exactly what our Western politicians say they want in the Middle East, yet they continually try to eradicate him by propping up atrocious terrorist groups like ISIS, and are more than willing to work with much more repressive and human rights denying regimes like China's CCP and Qatar's dictatorship and Turkey's Muslim Brotherhood every fucking day of the month. Now somebody tell me how I'm supposed to take the Permanent State of the West's claims about wanting "peace" or "human rights progression" in the world seriously.
