Do try to keep up. It isn't a particularly elaborate comparison, not sure why you're having this much trouble. Unless you're being purposefully ignorant.

You brought up the comparison being invalid in regards to the Chinese. The claim that their brand of socialism is "working" has yet to be seen. The point is that people from Venezuela (or other socialist places like Cuba) come to the US not only because they can make a better life for themselves here, but also due to proximity. If they go over land, they can pretty much walk right in.

My contention was that, if China was much closer to the US, we'd likely see millions of illegal Chinese immigrants. However, as it stands, it is much more difficult for them to immigrate to the US, legally or illegally.
