Yep, I've said repeatedly, give them a piece and they'll take the whole pie.
The first goal is to ban "assault weapons" (any scary looking semi-auto rifle just based on cosmetic features). "If it just saves one life...." they'll say.
Then they'll cry that "it wasn't enough because handguns cause the most firearm deaths" - so handguns will be next.
Then it will be any semi-rifle at all, which they'll label as "high powered sniper rifles".
Then all that will be left are shotguns, which will be banned next.
What was the old definition?
I know, shall not be infringed and I agree; just curious what specific changes these fuck heads are trying to make.
E: thanks for the replies! I love this community.

The m1 grip/stock is literally every rifle and shotgun grip/stock except some lever actions. Are you sure?
No the end goal is to ban all civilian ownership of firearms.
So you are saying that this new definition calls essentially every semi auto rifle an assault rifle?
Yep
That's bull and insane
You have a gun, when they are done you won’t. That’s the change they are trying to make.
Umm... no, Molon Labe.
There was no definition, federally. NY and CA made shit up as they went along, and industrious manufacturers found ways around politicians' bullshit.
