Short term, what do we do with all of the people whose lack of education or job skills mean they only qualify for low-end jobs? Having simple, entry-level jobs out there where at least some of them can learn some skills and have a chance to advance up the career ladder is vital.
If there's no bottom rung on the career ladder because we've outsourced everything to Asia and imported illegals for the jobs that can't be outsourced, then we have millions of Americans with no hope and no prospects. Best case, they end up on welfare. But more likely, they end up in prison or dead because crime is the only chance they see to get out of poverty.
I understand that if your competitors are outsourcing their jobs for $2 an hour, you can't pay $8 an hour and be able to compete. So the solution for outsourcing and importing illegals has to be to take away those options for all businesses, which is what Trump was working on.
Long term, we have to do something about the subcultures in our country that denigrate study and hard work. Because right now we are breeding and raising millions more people who have no education or job skills. We have to create incentives to work and take away incentives to stay on public assistance.
That's really hard, especially since the Democrats use dependent folks as their voter base. Also, the millions of people who already get a free (or heavily subsidized) ride from the government can vote. Because this system has been allowed to metastasize for decades, the dependent class is already darn near half of the voters.
The alternative is to keep going as we have been: with an ever-increasing share of the country dependent on government until the system completely breaks. Technology and automation will stave off the breakdown of society for a while (by allowing ever fewer productive people to keep supporting ever more dependents). Meanwhile, our country will print more increasingly worthless money and go deeper and deeper into debt. But that system is not sustainable forever.
Not at all. I made an argument against importing illegals and outsourcing labor.
Without the illegals and outsourcing, there will be less competition for the low level jobs. Labor scarcity may result in higher wages. At the very least it'll give our citizens at better chance at getting a job. We saw that when GEOTUS was on office and worked to reduce illegal immigration. Unemployment rates dropped, especially for minorities and youth.
Frankly, I think the minimum wage should be abolished. We should also get rid of Obamacare and look at other ways (deregulation among them) to reduce companies' total cost to employ Americans.
But since the US cost of living is so high, nobody here is going to work for $2/hr answering your phones. Not even high schoolers looking for spending money. Even if we managed to get rid of minimum wage (extremely unlikely) I doubt that pay for menial jobs would drop much.
Go ahead and call me a libtard if it makes you feel better, but you're way off base. I'm trying to keep our country strong and MAGA. We can't be strong as a country with an ever-increasing dependent class.
That's good for you, but bad for the country.

Congratulations, you just made an argument for a higher minimum wage, libtard.
