I get it. Now knowing that EVERYTHING we have learned about our nation, heck the world, has been based on half truths, and that we have been living under a false sense of having any say in our Govt, it is hard to look at this country as what I once thought of it.
As a veteran, a part of me is disgusted that I served this nation because we veterans were doing so under lies about our missions and roles in the military. Other part is still proud because I truly thought I was doing my part to do good for my Country.
Maybe we can celebrate in hope that ONE day we will achieve the America we were always told it was instead of a false simulation of it.
I don't expect utopia, because there is no such thing. But power is a corrupting force. And what's more powerful than the United States? It's been corrupted completely, and is being used to crush liberty, and faith in God too. I can't celebrate that.
