Here's the deal about Cali. Our red areas produce LOTS of food. We're a massive food producer, no question. Also, we have high tech and Hollyweird which - before the TDS / SJW / BLM collapse into stupidity - were devoted to making LOTS of money and were a vector of promoting American exceptionalism (yes, I know there's been decades of commie indoctrination, but compare entertainment from 1971, 1991 and today). It's hard for people to imagine, but California WAS a red state where illegal immigration wasn't tolerated. It's still amazingly beautiful in regards to nature, but it's become a cesspool of retardation and now on overdrive.
Because state and city budgets have fuck all to do with the money made by corporations here. That has little to do with SF's actual budget. SF is facing massive deficits because the Dems shut the country down, and SF depends on business taxes (extremely low because everyone is working remotely or not at all because their business laid them off or closed) and income from tourism, which is dead. That, and the convention trade, which is dead, too.
The most insulting thing is, they haven't made ANY cuts yet, because once the election was stolen, they knew they didn't have to. So they'll get 600 million spread over two years, and face a 50 million deficit.
Repeat that for any big city or town in the state, and we're talking real money. Our money. But Apple, Hollywood, they're still raking it in and get generous tax credits to not leave the state like anyone with common sense, so they pay less tax, while we'll pay more.
Fuck GDP anyway. It's a piss-poor measure of the long-term health of a nation
