Placating the populace to stand down and have trust in a higher power that will take care of things for them, while things continually get worse as good men sit idle.
They are all cults. However isn't it something like 99% of the entire global populace believes in some kind of religion? That's a lot of mega brainwashing. As a child my family and religion has attempted to brainwash me just the same as they do anyone else, and it never stops actually. However from a very young age I believe I grew up somewhat of a pessimist and never believed in all of this stuff.
