Was there an official enquiry made through the chain of command that was dealt with by those tasked with handling the domestic media, or are these simply uniformed members of the military advocating policy on official channels, because a member of the press made a public statement, and they are so outraged they feel the need to respond while on our dime, ignoring policies and traditions that prohibit advocacy in uniform?

Yes there is. They are my political representatives, and I'm going to ask why active duty Officers & Senior Enlisted Marines, in uniform and through their official accounts, are disparaging USA civilians on social media. Also, does my family need to be worried about a radicalized military presence in my state? Why is our current military leadership responding hostilely to reporters and citizens outside of official channels? And why is the official Pentagon press secretary disparaging publicly, civilians who ask question about the current administrations handling and command of our military? Is our current military leadership planning harm to my state and fellow citizens? Feel free to contact your representatives and ask question... get them on the record.

It's not just policies. It's against the UCMJ.
You are NOT to attend protests in uniform or disparage people politically in any official channel while in the military.
They could be court martialed. Though, I doubt their CO knows/cares.
