I wonder why the Floyds didn't pay by the hour instead of a percentage. I'm sure they had plenty of donations (see: golden casket, etc.) left over. If you have the cash for a few hours of legal services ($500/hr?), and you're confident that you'll win the suit, then you shouldn't go the percentage route. Oftentimes, the lawyers will bait you with a lower percentage (30%) then gradually increase it for no apparent reason.
I figured they'd have gotten some sort of pro bono lawyer from ACLU. Guess not, tho

There are several of them and I don't know the exact number either, but from people I've listened to (such as Nick Rekeita and other lawyers), it's probably much higher than that.
They probably got a VERY significant portion of those 27Mil (-500k for the George Floyd square "investment").
I think that his family got a very big portion from donations, maybe even more than what they eventually get from the lawsuit itself.
