I'm not asking rhetorically, its a serious question, how did we go from democrats that said "its not what your country can do for you its what you can do for your country"

Politicians have turned a once-noble profession into a travesty of numbing complexity, the well connected using leverage to enlarge their relative influence. They've shown themselves to be mostly poseurs and liars who can't answer the simplest question without elaborate embroidery.

You only see them at election time, where they tell you what they've been told you want to hear, then resume their office just as before. And the regular media all cover for them to hide how dumb they really are. So it festers.

Politics has been made so unattractive that the average person simply ignores it, has no desire to run for office himself, lest he be absorbed by the madness. So the political scene grows unabated, enlarges, becomes even more complex and, yes, dirty. Most politician are morons, not all, but most.

It is their intent to promote morons and they do. Their lawmaking is designed to relegate the intelligent to the bottom of the ladder and elevate the idiots. (If you don't believe me, just look at the Congress.). Smart, independent people are anathema to them and must be destroyed.

That's how we got from John, F. Kennedy and Ronald Reagan to Bill Clinton and Barack Hussein Sotero Obama. . .

Now we have to get back.

In the founders' days there was, as usual, much strife and conflict but once the government had been established and Congress formed, the men who served as lawmakers for the people did so out of a sense of duty, and privilege, as this was not a post given to many. They fully expected to return home to their business or regular work when their terms were done, not to make a lifelong career of politics.

In over 2 centuries since, politicians have been left to their own devices by the People and have become corrupted.
