We measure time with the sun. From seconds to lightyears. Daylight savings is another measurement of time.
I could use the daylight savings saying "it makes no sense" for every measurement of time we use.
Or how about we break it in half, do 30 minutes 4 times a year instead of an hour twice.
Or have it incrementally change every day, like when the sundial was the go-to time keeping device.
