Don't be a lefty moron. Let them NPC. Don't fall for the twice a year bandwagon.
We measure time with the sun. From seconds to lightyears. Daylight savings is another measurement of time.
I could use the daylight savings saying "it makes no sense" for every measurement of time we use.
No. Just no. I’ve lived and worked in bordering areas that each don’t and do use daylight savings time. Having to adjust the clocks twice a year is only part of it. Having to adjust what time it is because of an imaginary line for work is an annoyance and a headache. It’s been documented many times over the years the loss of productivity and lateness caused by this. The average person has no use for it.
If you want your “extra hour of daylight” YOU can just wake up an hour earlier. Making everyone do the stupid thing you want to do regardless of if they want to is lefties thinking. You do you as long as you aren’t harming or bothering anyone else is right thinking.
Example: working on an oil rig, shift work that changes from graveyards to daylights to afternoons to week off. Crew change at 6:30. Hour and a half drive to work, leave at 5 am. Except one area has daylight savings time. So now you’re leaving at 4 am. So now you’re waking up at 3:30 am local time to go to work. For 6:30 am, in a place where the border is a half hour from your house.
Example 2: get done work on graveyards. Leave at 6:30, drive hour and a half home. Add time change. Now it’s 7 am local time. Wanna stay up and hit the store before you to go bed? Well now you’re waiting an extra hour when you just want sleep for the next shift. Or you can mess your sleep schedule up and wake up at 5 to hit the store before it closes at 6 and be the equivalent of waking up at 6 am to go grocery shopping when you work at 9 am.
There’s zero benefit to me at all in these two examples here, and many many more can be added by other pedes. The sun rises in the morning no matter what time you set your clock, and a true day doesn’t have an exact 24 hours in it. You’re measuring a day wrong to begin with, adding in changing hours twice a year to pretend you’re fixing anything is folly to start with.
