The concept of a "tomboy" was encouraged in the early 1900s as a way to improve female health and, by consequence, improve the health of the children they make. Overall, it's a good thing.

19
bills_gash 19 points ago +19 / -0

Do you have any sources on that? Sounds like it could be interesting in a way parallel to the bullshit we're seeing now.

17
MrBlack 17 points ago +17 / -0

What were seeing now is paid for by the pharmaceutical industry. Trans people are a clusterfuck physically and mentally, and ripe targets for them, they take loads of medication.

8

I don’t know but if you’ve seen the Victorian ideas about women’s fitness.... their comment sure seems plausible.

22
HeavenlyTrumpets 22 points ago +22 / -0

That makes sense. I was largely a tomboy myself. And yeah, you're right, no one ever thought it meant "oh, I'm a boy" just because maybe you don't wear makeup or fuss with your hair, and like playing sports or whatever.

35
consumptiveballerina 35 points ago +35 / -0

I wouldn't play with dolls as a child; they were boring. I preferred trucks and Legos. I climbed trees and caught frogs with my bare hands. I'm also really good at math, and when all the other girls started wearing makeup I thought it was a stupid waste of time.

Fortunately, it was the '80s, so no one cornered my parents and threatened to call CPS if they didn't transition me to a boy. I still think makeup is mostly a waste of time and money. But I would MUCH rather be a woman than any alternative. I love jewelry. I spend too much on handbags, and don't even get me started on shoes! I have long hair, which I love to curl, and a closet full of dresses.

Most importantly, though, I'm teaching my daughter that not only is it possible to be an engineer who wears pink dresses and is attracted to shiny things, but it's darned fun, too!

11
tom_of_rj_fame 11 points ago +11 / -0

Good for you. And you're right to point out - with gratitude - that back then we didn't have pharma ready to juice you full of life altering hormones and anti-depressants, etc.

7
DebbieinDallas 7 points ago +7 / -0

So glad to hear somebody else thought playing with dolls was boring. I was growing up in the 50s. Much harder then to want to play with scrap lumber and pound nails, trying to build something, and nobody to teach you how bec it was a boy thing. I used to dress my old cat up in doll clothes and push him around in a stroller. LOL. I thought makeup went out in the 60s when we all burned our bras. Barbers went out of business in the 70s. And in the 80s imagine my shock to find out people made a living planning weddings. I thought weddings went out of style the 70s. My how things change. But we never had girls wanting to be boys for real. Things changed around 1975 when all the psychiatrists/psychologists got together and changed the rules and made homosexuality no longer a mental disorder. Everything crazy happening now can be traced back to that as the start of it all.

I spend too much on handbags

Impossible.

Although I find that if you buy quality in a style you like, without worrying about today's fashion, 3-4 years into the future you're classicly retro fashion and everybody's jealous, and you don't need to change.

No need doesn't mean you can't of course..

She went to the school and raised hell.

DAMN... MAKES SO MUCH SENSE...

Just put 2 and 2 together to equal 4, not 5. Most and my friends and I have jumped off social media and especially Instagram. Instagram used to be fun when it first started up & we were in high school. In recent years it has become a huge validation machine for women... brings a whole new level for young women to compare themselves to other women. I remember in the last bit of still being on Instagram it became the norm for girls to be editing their own photos... Making the competition between women more psychologically destructive. It makes sense now that women are choosing to transition to escape their self-scrutiny with the added psychological weaponry of social media. No wonder bc the Hollywood overlords are telling young girls that coming out is 'stunning and brave'... this is all psychological fuckery afoot... our youth need help and social media is toxic as hell!! (I heard Tic-Toc is bad too.. I never got on but it's probably the same as Instagram pictures but now you have explicit dances...)

Storytime: I remember just 8 years ago in HS that girls would be hella embarrassed if their nudes got leaked and some dumbass was sending them around. The school would get involved and it was a huge deal. It was massively embarrassing to the girl. Nowadays it seems like girls are seemingly proud to be exposing themselves on social media and marketing their OnlyFans for the whole internet to see. I knew friends in college that openly told us about it in a bragging fashion. It's almost like bc they got paid to sell their images it validated their self-worth and made them confident - almost bragging to us thinking we would them as higher-value... when in fact, in a man's eyes that shit does the exact opposite. I guess it was a very eye-opening time to go through HS to firsthand experience the power of social media as it grew from being fun and innocent to the current days...

A little bit of a rant... but this shit is going SOUTH FAST - My friends and I have had the unique experience to see this as it happened. We talk about it and see through this. My life goal is to have a family (don't hear that anymore.. it's all about having that money and getting ass...) I can go on for hours about my takeaways..

Your answer is in your second paragraph, it's to destroy the nuclear family. It was on BLM's "about us" section, they're for trans people and against the nuclear family. It's Marxism, you remove the family, everyone's a comrade.

They're encouraging kids to stop using terms like "mom" and "dad" in schools for the same reason.

8
Joesf23 8 points ago +10 / -2

Well, ask yourself who owns and control the media networks? Who created the lbgtq movement along with BLM and ANTIFA? Who runs hollywood? Give you a hint, it isnt black people or china.

3
Barbs 3 points ago +5 / -2

And who goes along with all of it, because they all have agency and ambition of their own? I’ll give you a hint, it’s not the Jews.

4
Joesf23 4 points ago +5 / -1

Yes, it's just a coincidence that 2% of the population run the central banks, media, hollywood, academia and use that influence overwhelmingly to push a globalist, anti white, anti family, anti constitution agenda...only a coincidence, no need to notice these things, everything is going swell here in the USA.

sentient-potato 32 points ago +32 / -0

I posted below about having a family member going through this. The parents are powerless. All psychiatrists and therapists affirm, teachers change the kid's name without telling them, Planned Parenthood will give them hormones without parental consent, all under the threat that their child will commit suicide without them.

Personally, if it were my kid, I'd move off-grid. Parental responsibility comes before this ball starts rolling by keeping their kid off ALL social media. I have 2 girls 11 and 13 and they know that's just not an option for them. But were we to have this come up, there would be no help from the medical community, only massive opposition against me. It is criminal.

5
Carlton-Whitfield 5 points ago +6 / -1

No offense to your family members' parenting skills, but you have to be a good parent from the start, not decide to be one when shit starts going down. If you raise your kids to respect you, respect the family, and not be self-focused navel-gazing losers, you won't end up being in this situation at all, let alone being powerless.

5
sentient-potato 5 points ago +6 / -1

The parents were good in many ways, but gave 100% free rein of the internet (iPhone, Snapchat, YouTube) to their child from the age of 12. This was a colossal mistake.

I'm not offended, I warned them.

That being said, you would think that psychiatrists and therapists would be there to help, they are not.

As far as your other comments, they lead me to believe you don't have kids. I know wonderful parents whose kids go off the rails. There are many issues (chemical, psychological) which are so far outside the parenting realm that it's laughable to think great parenting will automatically guarantee great, healthy adults.

1
Carlton-Whitfield 1 point ago +1 / -0

You would be incorrect. I have kids. Oldest is 22. Youngest is 4. I didn't say that nothing could go wrong. I said THIS wouldn't happen if you raise kids properly. I stand by that. And just where do you think these psychological issues that are 'so far outside the parenting realm' come from? Do they just magically appear? Parents just trip, slip on the floor and whoops their kid is a tranny? In order for this to occur, it takes a rudderless child; a child no receiving guidance from parents. A child seeking approval and acceptance that they aren't finding in their homelife. For a child to push away parents in favor of psychologists and therapists indicates a mile high pile of parenting fail. And if they aren't a huge bag of fucking fail to begin with why the hell are their kids in therapy?

1
sentient-potato 1 point ago +1 / -0

Yes, some psychological issues are COMPLETELY out of the parenting realm.

It's clear to me that we should agree to disagree. Mental health issues run in families, not everyone is born neurotypically. I have two children with LDs which are thankfully treatable with a good educational environment and they're very well adjusted. Because of my experience with their school I have met many kids with anxiety and other challenges which stem from their LDs. This is something they are BORN with, it is a neurological disorder.

I'm thrilled you have two kids and you've been able to see one easier side of the coin, but to think for an instant that just raising your kids right will avoid the challenges which come from physical or neurological predispositions is, frankly, naive.

3

If your girls are in public school stay on top of them like a hawk. I've seen this shit go down over the course of a week. Know what's being taught in class, know their friends and provide lots of healthy opportunities for them to grow in a positive direction.

Also massive points for keeping them off social media.

If they have internet access look into https://www.opendns.com/ for free content blocking on your home network.

2
sentient-potato 2 points ago +2 / -0

Thanks for the info, I'm really on top of it. We use Qustodio (in case this helps other parents) and block all SM and keep an eye on all online activity. They're in private school as they have mild learning differences, but if they didn't they'd be going to another private, or home school.

It's pretty funny watching my 13 year old have to text with an old flip phone, but if I did it so can she! LOL

18
sentient-potato 18 points ago +18 / -0

I have a family member going through this. The parents can now easily be excluded. The teachers use the male name, they can go to many places (like Planned Parenthood) to get hormones without their parents. Psychiatrists almost ALL affirm the transition and threaten the parents with their child's suicide if they don't comply.

You'd be shocked at what the medical establishment will do without parental consent. Once they turn 18 all bets are off.

15
Red_Turtle 15 points ago +15 / -0

My mom is mentally ill. She was raped in high school, gave birth to a boy, and put him up for adoption. She got married asap after school and had another kid in an attempt to replace the one she lost. It was a girl. Eventually she divorced and got married to my dad. Had me (also girl) and then my brother. They divorced when my brother was 4 months old (I was 4 years). She sterilized herself shortly after the divorce because "mission accomplished" basically.

My mom spent most of her time trying to influence me away from girly things and my brother could do no wrong. I was always a bit of a tomboy admittedly (I loved playing Sega and watching the original run of Power Rangers) and still am, but she pushed it past that. "Oh you want to buy THAT? Why? It's pink, ew. That's for girly girls. You don't want that." Things like that. I wasn't allowed to experiment with makeup. I wasn't allowed to do anything with my hair (straightening, styling, etc). I wasn't allowed to date (first date happened in college as a result, which isn't good). Long list of things. I'm still very tomboyish, but I'm trying to learn to embrace femininity now. It's hard as hell to tell the difference between being female in certain traits and this popular thot culture.

I was born in 1988 so this transitioning crap wasn't around when I was growing up. My mom has an adult friend who "is trans" and has gone through the ENTIRE process of this in his 60s to pretend to be a woman. This includes the surgery for the gaping gash they pretend is a vagina. My mom is 100% supportive. If this shit was around when I was a kid, my mother would have forced me into transition so she could have "another boy" to raise. Sometimes the parents are the cause of this, not just powerless to stop it.

tombombadil 12 points ago +12 / -0

As a kid, I played with matchbox cars in the dirt with my brother, played whiffle ball, and climbed trees. I was given hand-me-downs from my older brothers and sister... I was tomboy leaning, wasn't crazy about 'playing house', would rather have a new puppy or kitten over a barbie doll. I was never labeled as anything... At the end of the day, I love being a woman. I love celebrating men. I appreciate gender differences and celebrate them. I also know as a Psychologist that the last thing chidren need when they experience trauma is to be brainwashed into thinking they're something they are not. Liberals are destroying children like this. Liberals are destroying children on so many levels... liberals are destroying an entire generation of children.

8
Liberty4All 8 points ago +8 / -0

This sounds very much like my childhood. I spent most of it with my brother and his friends, doing all the "boy" stuff, including "sword fights" with sticks, chase games, and catching bugs and lizards and snakes. I played little league baseball on an otherwise all boys team. (Not out of any desire to push feminism or anything like that. I just thought baseball was fun and the only teams around were boys' teams.) I always loved science and math, and competed on math teams.

But I never imagined that I was a boy. I grew up into a feminine woman and had four kids. To this day, though, I prefer socializing with males. I'd rather play video games or watch movies where stuff blows up than talk fashion or watch a rom-com.

If I were growing up today and showing interest in all of those "boy" things, adults around me would be telling me I was a boy trapped in a girl's body and trying to get me to transition. And if I listened to them, and started in on the hormones before puberty, I'd be permanently sterilizing myself so that I could never have children.

It's ironic to me how the pro-transgender movement is rigidly reinforcing gender stereotypes that feminists had just spent decades trying to get out from under. Girls wear makeup and dresses. Girls like pink and play with dolls, etc, etc. Any girl that doesn't fit neatly into those stereotypes these days must actually be a boy who must be "helped" and "encouraged" to transition. Why can't people just accept that some girls like "boy" things and leave them alone to be who they are?

100% this.

For MTF they are almost always either just gay or have a developed fetish about being a girl (keep your kids away from porn!).

2
RedditIsCommunist 2 points ago +2 / -0

That’s another good point. I hadn’t thought of this sort of emotional reason for taking puberty blockers. There’s also just the usual puberty confusion that may cause kids to think of blocking puberty as a “solution” to unease, and they gain social status and special treatment based on “oppression” at the same time.

2
VirtueVeritas 2 points ago +2 / -0

Yeah, the social clout that's come with transitioning is really scary. A lot of these kids seem to have other issues going on but instead they're encouraged to take carcinogenic hormone "therapy" and undergo pointless surgeries by these cheerleaders who abandon them as soon as they regret their decision. It's really sad.

1
RedditIsCommunist 1 point ago +1 / -0

I had enough problems as a kid without having to deal with stuff like this. Now everything seems like more of a nightmare.

6
Barbs 6 points ago +6 / -0

Now can a man who is unhappy with his appearance be prescribed testosterone in the same way? Or does he have to identify as a man who identifies as a women who is transiting to become a man?

Asking for a friend who would like to add 200 lbs to his deadlift.

7
unclebobinator 7 points ago +7 / -0

You can get testosterone as a man if you're diagnosed by a doctor with low testosterone. And it has to be a level where natural methods of boosting testosterone won't be effective or timely. Also depends on the doctor really. Friend is on it and said doctors are real faggots towards people with low T.

3
spratville 3 points ago +3 / -0

My understanding is that most men in my generation have significantly lower levels of testosterone in comparison with our grandfathers. So most are low T. Sad.

3
Barian84 3 points ago +3 / -0

They keep lowering what is considered "Low T" so that you're avarage overweight soyboy has "normal Test" when they clearly fucking don't.

2
unclebobinator 2 points ago +2 / -0

Doesn't surprise me. Our grandfathers were kings of manual labor and consumption of protein.

Most of us work desk jobs or jobs where the equipment does most of the work for us, eat shit food. It would actually be surprising if we didn't have lower levels in comparison.

5
Barbs 5 points ago +5 / -0

The problem with supplemental testosterone is eventually it won’t be optional. Once you start taking it, your body will shut down whatever little testosterone it’s producing (if you’re low-T) and you’ll have to get it all externally.

Your balls also shrink, and if you stop taking it then estrogen takes over and you grow man boobs.

Your best bet is to look into food, vitamins and exercise to try to boost it naturally.

4
Carlton-Whitfield 4 points ago +4 / -0

You can go off TRT by doing a PCT like a steroid user would. Ball shrinkage is mitigated by the use of HCG in the TRT protocol.

TRT does not cause man boobs and estrogen unless it's being managed by a fucking drooling moron.

Vitamins and exercise are nice, but if you're low-t, 'boosting it naturally' is a fool's errand.

If we treated these people for their mental illness instead of allowing the problem to fester, many would still be alive. Not to mention, many would be living healthy lives. For some reason we are being told to accept their fantasy world as reality. This only serves to damage them and society.

Didn't they find a few dozen school kids that started 'de-transing' themselves almost the minute that the social pressures were removed because they were out of school from the lockdowns?

Not saying we should isolate anyone to stop this madness, but clearly the bad influences from social media and 'supportive' teachers and peers is having an immediate impact.

I think that when we stopped institutionalization of mental illness, it resulted in our current state of affairs.

He should do the same thing 40% of trans people do

This girl is adorable! I hope she truly has found peace. I work in our high schools and there are a few girls going through transition hormones right now in our small community. It is heartbreaking.

I can’t imagine the hate this girl must be getting for coming to that realization.

I would honestly enjoy being around the version on the right. Wouldn't even care if she is a lesbian, but she looks beautiful and fun to be around.

The version on the left? Not so much.

I had a very cute asian friend who is a lesbian. She embraced her feminine aspects and she was drop dead gorgeous. We would go to strip clubs together and she would pretend to be my gf when some fat ugly stripper came looking for a dance from me.

Man I miss her. During the pandemic, she ended up moving out of state. We don't talk anymore :(

2
Barbs 2 points ago +2 / -0

Where does it say she’s a lesbian?

People don’t seem to understand yet that trans isn’t a sexual identity. It’s a gender identity. She could still be attracted to men when she was a trans man, she’d just be trans-gay. Yes, that’s a thing, and a quite common thing among “trans women” (male feminists in drag) who still are attracted to women.

This isn’t a scenario where she was a lesbian and decided it was because she was a man, those thoughts are usually independent of each other.

"a way to cope with trauma and self hatred"

Should actually be part of a diagnosis if you ask me ... or her.

4
jealousminarchist 4 points ago +4 / -0

Statistically, if she is one who saved herself, another one died. Numbers figure around ~40% and going up.

4
Patriot_Lettuce 4 points ago +4 / -0

Good for her!

Things like this, are what we are trying to accomplish with the culture war.

Simultaneously waking people up from the indoctrination of mainstream media/public schools, and improving their self-image and well-being at the same time.

Young and confused but she found her way before she ruined her life. Most of these kids will turn out fine with proper encouragement from good parents but there are evil people out there trying to transform them into freaks like themselves for their own selfish reasons.

You ever notice how tranny female to males always take pictures sporting some sort of frown or atleast not smiling. It's like they think it makes them more dude like to not smile in pictures

2
Barbs 2 points ago +2 / -0

A little aside, but studies show that women find stern men more attractive than smiling ones in photos. They may actually be revealing their own preference rather than trying to copy what the men do.

3
Salt-N-Pepe 3 points ago +3 / -0

What trauma?

16
Wind-chasing_luhua 16 points ago +16 / -0

Probably sexual abuse. LGBT are usually LGBT because of some kind of sexual abuse they were subjected to. We here at the Donald are against Pedophilia right? Thats why we need to help these people get back to being super straight with brutal honesty and tough love. Not coddling and feeding into their victimhood.

5
thisguy883 5 points ago +5 / -0

I knew a girl who transitioned to a male because her dad use to rape her as a child.

Shit is real.

A gay guy I know is gay because some older uncle of his use to jerk him off when he was a teen.

The shit people reveal to me is crazy.

And I'm straight. =/

1
unclebobinator 1 point ago +1 / -0

Don't know any trans people but the "raped as a kid so now I'm gay" isn't an uncommon tale I've heard in my life.

An abused girl sometimes turns into an out of control nympho, or a lesbian. An abused guy usually just turns into a homo

5
Peart44 5 points ago +5 / -0

Every lesbian I've ever met, and got to know, had some kind of trauma. One seemed to have been triggered by having an bortion

2
c0mpl3x 2 points ago +2 / -0

Lesbians are traumatized by a bad relationship with a guy so now they need dykes to satisfy that gap

2
unclebobinator 2 points ago +2 / -0

I think that likely applies to my sister. Or used to anyway. In HS she didn't get much attention from guys and was kinda awkward. She fit in well with the artsy theatre band type girls cliques and most of them were also not favored much by the guys.

So no boyfriend throughout high school she became a lesbian for a handful of her early 20s. Now she has a kid though, so crisis averted. Once she realized if she put the effort guys would fall all over her.

"Super straight?" WTF. Don't use their stupid words. It's called "straight." It's like saying "reverse racism." No, it's racism.

I truly believe there are a lot of people in her situation. I've known people who had deep, emotional issues and when they came out as trans, they were instantly flooded with a lot of support and acceptance in a way they never received before. It was that kind of positive support that they were hungry for, and being trans became a way for them to get it. I'm glad she got to a state of mind where she could properly figure out her issues before she made any decisions she couldn't undo.

2
sustainable_saltmine 2 points ago +2 / -0

the thing is, did she do damage to herself, permanently? did all that testosterone ruin her chances at trying to have a kid one day?

2
Liberty4All 2 points ago +2 / -0

That depends on whether she went through puberty first. If she went through puberty before taking the testosterone, she probably is still fertile. Assuming she never had top surgery, she will probably be able to nurse her children, too.

But if she took puberty blockers before puberty and then followed up with testosterone, she may be permanently sterilized.

Even if she took the testosterone after puberty, she may still have some permanent effects from it - such as a permanently deepened voice, extra facial and body hair, and possibly an elevated risk for heart disease later in life.

REDMARAUDER 2 points ago +2 / -0

Welcome back to the world of the living.

Mental illness is always a sad state of affairs but any healthy society must not normalize such behavior. It should be treated like other body dysphorias - anorexia, bulimia, self mutilation.
