Slavery was by and large a product of rich Democrat elites. During the time of slavery unemployment for whites was rampant and most of the south's non-landowners rarely had full time employment.
Yet, the decedents of those same rich elites that are running our country and the companies we work for are telling us we have to pay for their benefit from slavery. The irony of the Democrat elite telling working class white people they need to pay reparations when it was the Democrat elite who benefited directly from slavery.
Edit: My family is from Ireland, came over during the potato famine as indentured servants, were never slaver owners and treated just as well as the blacks in this country. Where's my reparations?
