I suspect you are right on that. Luke describes Him as growing in wisdom and stature, and grace. Isaiah describes him as ordinary looking in Isaiah 53. He may or may not have been a red-head like King David, but he would not have been the only one, either.
The word "ruddy" as KJV puts it is unclear in the Hebrew. It could mean red headed or red skinned. I don't know how much that may pertain to Caucasian?
He is Jewish, and probably olive skinned. We don't know if He's handsome or not.
