At this point and time price point is not as important as ammo availability. Who cares if the gun is a deal if the ammo is going to set you back a mint.
Look for ammo on the shelf first then look for a gun in that caliber, not a revolver owner myself but my usual shops have been wiped out of everything except 5.56, 7.62 and 12 gauge, 9mm has been harder to come by and stumbled on .45 at a pawn shop I randomly started to visit while waiting for the gun shop to open after not seeing any for about 6 months
10mm is often overlooked. Still going for relatively decent price online (comparatively).
A good 10mm PCC is a solid option in lieu of an AR.
Good advice. My local gun store is out of 5.56, 9mm, 45 acp and 308, but has a lot of uncommon calibers (especially pistol ammo).
I've found .22 Hornet on the shelf at my local place while everything else was sold out.
I've been able to get what I need here in California but limited to two boxes ea of any type per day so I just go to the gun store every day get 8 boxes (2x2 types of 9mm and 2x2 types of 44
If you want a carry pistol anything in 9mm or .40 S&W.
If you want stopping power either 10mm or .357 magnum.
.40 S&W is probably easier to find than 9mm right now. Also its commonly used by law enforcement, for the time being, so its still produced in decent capacity.
9mm is both the cheapest and most produced ammo because its the most commonly carried pistol all over the world.
